The Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia confirms its participation at the Venice Boat Show with the second edition of the MUVE Yacht Projects exhibition to be held within the spaces of the Arsenale’s Tesa 113. The exhibition will present the works selected from the International call for the selection of studies and projects for boats – Sustainable sailing, promoted by Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, the Municipality of Venice and Vela spa with the collaboration of the main institutions and public bodies. In 2020/21 the call was specifically aimed at two types of yacht projects and nautical transport characterized by high sustainability: sailing and motor yachts belonging to classes up to 24 metres; means of transport for people and/or boats for inland waterways.  There were 54 projects submitted by professionals and students, single or associated individuals or companies that created and/or simply designed projects and studies for boats of any kind and type of material.

The Scientific Committee, appointed by the Mayor of Venice and made up of four leading figures in the design, industry and academy world: Alberto Bassi – IUAV University Professor, Sean Mc Cartan – Coventry University Professor (UK), Gabriella Belli – Director of MUVE and Carlo Nuvolari-Duodo, engineer and naval architect, selected 16 from all over Italy whose projects will be exhibited at the Arsenale’s Tesa 113 during the Boat Show with an installation inspired by an origami paper boat. During the Venice Boat Show (May 29 – June 6, 2021), meetings and webinars on the theme of innovation and sustainability in the nautical sector will be broadcast from the Arsenale.
