“Protecting the sea and its resources – The sea between environmental protection, economic interests and strategic considerations “- second module.

Promoted by the Italian Navy (La Marina Militare).

In conjunction with the opening of the Venice Boat Show, a two-day Conference – the afternoon of Sunday, May 29 and all-day Monday, May 31 – will be dedicated to analysing themes related to protecting the sea and its resources at the Library of the Istituto di Studi Militari Marittimi (Institute of Maritime Military Studies). Leading figures not only from the scientific world, but also from the fields of economy and industry will be talking about current issues relating to the protection of our oceans, which are an essential resource for human life. Several high-ranking figures from the Italian Navy that has always strived not only to safeguarding our waters and providing general security, but also to defending the marine environment, will also be participating.

Experts from various sectors will be composing a broad-spectrum framework of reflection to raise awareness of our collective heritage, such as our oceans, that need to be defended, preserved and exploited in an environmentally friendly way, also reflecting on the importance of both old and new food and energy resources that man gets from the sea.
